We all know that the day after Thanksgiving is retail’s big day for blockbuster sales, deals, and lines around the corner.
But while the big box stores are being cleaned out on Black Friday, your local shops are preparing for their own big day: Small Business Saturday.
Now in its 3rd year, Small Business Saturday is local business’ response to the Black Friday phenomenon that’s taken the retail world by storm.
Initiated by American Express and in conjunction with the Small Business Administration, the day is observed to encourage shoppers to take their holiday wishlists and bargain hunting to the boutiques, corner stores, and mom-and-pop shops in their own neighborhoods to support local business.
Small Business Saturday is November 30th, 2013!
This Saturday, take to the streets and support small businesses in your area! Whether you need a special gift for the in-laws, extra serving dishes for all your holiday sides, or are looking for a little something for yourself, local businesses are full of unique finds.
