Google Posting 101

With Google My Business, you can publish posts to your business profile that will appear on your listing in Google search results. This allows people to discover and engage with your business exactly when they are actively performing online searches. In other words, you can get in front of potential customers when they have more intent to engage or buy.

When you post to Google, you choose one of four post types: What’s New, Events, Offers, and Products. Perch previously only supported direct posting with What’s New posts, but Events and Offers are now included, which is super exciting and just in time for the holidays!

Why Post with Perch?

While you can post to Google from the Google My Business interface, the difference with Perch is guidance. Perch prompts you to post so that you maintain a consistent presence. Perch also presents post ideas so you don’t get stuck, and even provides example text so that you’re not starting from scratch.

Another advantage with Perch is that you can see your published posts in the Perch Inbox, and even share them on additional social media platforms like Facebook. By experimenting with more and different kinds of Google posts, you get a better feel for which content drives the most customer engagement with your business.

Offer and Event Posts for the Holidays

Google Offer Posts are a great way to promote your business during the holidays. Unlike the standard “What’s New” or update post, you can set the offer’s start and end date so your post will stay live longer than the standard 7 days. You can also add elements common to promotional offers, such as coupon codes or terms & conditions.
Similarly, Google Event posts allow you to set a headline and specify start/end times/dates more flexible than the usual 7 days.
