This holiday season, the Propel Marketing Social Media Team is bringing you all you need to know about Social Media! Stay tuned for great tips and fun facts every day from now ’til Christmas!
On the sixth day of Christmas,
my Social Media Manager said to me:
“Hear what they are saying!”
Information that comes directly from your customers is extremely valuable. Facebook, Twitter and the various other social platforms often serve as outlets to express opinions and interact with other people or businesses. Consumers today are empowered, and can drive a brand’s reputation. Your job as a business owner is to hear what is being said and use it to your advantage.
Building relationships with customers is the first step, and it’s easier than ever through social media! On social networks, you can not only answer questions but ask questions as well. Post regularly. Share fun facts and company insights. Engagement is the key to building strong relationships. The more you engage with your customers, the more inclined they will be to share their thoughts and opinions with you.
As a business owner living a hectic life, you may not always notice the small problems. Social media allows you to monitor what people are saying about your brand or services. It’s a great way to learn what’s working and what isn’t. For example, as a customer, if you had a bad experience at a local car dealership where the service was slow and or the staff was rude, you may feel compelled to give a bad review or vent your frustration through social media. As a business owner, this is your chance to turn negative feedback into something positive with a well-thought-out, genuine response.
Always keep an eye out for mentions of your brand. Listen, respond and use the feedback to improve your business.
